Annnnnd… oh boy… I’m sick again. It seems like every few  months, I get hit with a virus of some sort (I lived alone for 7 years so being a large household is definitely exposing me to germs – and what doesn’t kill me only makes me stronger, right? Right. 😉 ). This one was creeping up on me last night (tired early, my throat starting having that weird feeling and I just knew).

And now here I am after a rough sweaty night, sore throat, and that urge to cough, and yep. It wasn’t just a “passing fatigue thing”. I don’t have body aches so far, so I don’t think it’s anything severe. It’s a cold. Stupid colds!!!

So instead of enjoying all the wings and things on Super Bowl Sunday (P.S. will you be watching, or reading?) I will be sipping on my Celestial Seasonings throat cooling tea that I love (it’s got mint and eucalyptus and menthol in it and I swear it seems to make everything better), eating chicken noodle soup (this is my favorite one), ’cause it’s comforting and delicious and for those few steaming hot moments, I can actually smell and taste again. Oooooh or maybe later this week, I make that “Italian Penicillin soup recipe) ’cause holy moly, Pastina noodles are back!! Sucking on lozenges and wrapped up in my cozy blanket (mine is the coziest in the world and it’s knit and striped grey and blues and it’s the cushiest, plushiest thing I’ve ever wrapped myself up in – I got it for Christmas – it kind of reminds me of this one – the knit, the softness and the cushiness seems right – or maybe this one). Oh and I’ll be in pjs all day no matter who comes over, but they’re cute and appropriate for guests ’cause look! (<— I have this exact pair but mine have a plaid heart on the pocket and that’s what I’m wearing today). Annnnnnd reading. Everyone around me will be watching, but I’m going to settle in for a reading day.

Oh and how could I forget my most favorite thing when I’m feeling chilled and stuffed up, is soaking in a hot bath with a scoop of these Eucalyptus Mint Epson Salts. I always feels better or at least more relaxed after a soak like that.

So while my cold kit might not help me get rid of my cold faster, it sure helps me feel more comfortable while it lasts. And it’s good to slow down sometimes.

Oh… so no housework today? I’d say absolutely not, but I DO have my Roomba that can handle some of the slack for me this morning before the festivities start. 😉

Okay so for now, tell me who you’re rooting for, or what you’re reading. I’m halfway through Mayluna (and enjoying the slow burn!!)

Also, if you’re sick like I am, or you want to bolster up your “sick day care package – or self-care package” here are my favorites:

MY FAVORITE COLD-SOOTHING AIDE!!

Celestial Seasonings Throat Cooler Herbal Tea, 16 Count

This is my favorite tea when I’m feeling sick. The hot tea seems to relieve my nasal passages for a bit where I can breathe again, but combined with the refreshing scent, taste and cooling sensation of the mint, eucalyptus and menthol are everything I need when I feel like this. I always have a few boxes of these on hand.

Thank you for making this (and at an amazing price) Mr. Celestial Seasonings!! 😂 This was an amazing find and I’m thrilled it’s an option (because I only heard about it a few months ago).
