Reader Question – The book about the experimental vampire-type and the girl that can find missing people…

Jen is looking for this one! Okay it is extremely unique-sounding and wow… I have NO clue but am dying to know too now. Kind of has “Anita Blake” elements but there was nobody “experimentally” made in that series as far as I can remember.

She asks:

Hiya!

Somehow a talented girl meets up with a manmade vampire type – experiments maybe a superhuman – they fall in love while on some case. Maybe she’s the one who can find missing people…

Anyway, there is a local dive bar she hangs out at, her sister is a local makeup artist for the tv station.

There’s a whole series about her and the superhuman, the local cop liason/ally is a were-supe type and he is attracted to her but loses out…

any ideas?
