What we’re reading right now… and loving!

Did you just finish a book? What was it & how did you like it? Today’s list is loaded in new/recent releases and we have feedback!!! 😀

What I’m reading right now is “Delicate Condition” and it makes me feel like I’m watching… OMG WAIT!!!!!!! The fact that this season is called “Delicate” means it probably IS the book that inspired this version of the show series. HOLY MOLY MIND BLOWN. 🤯 Lol!

TOTAL FLUKE, I promise. I literally just made the connection right now since I hadn’t really paid attention to what the show series title was called, until now when I looked it up for this blog post. ‘Cause I’m reading this book at the same time as watching the show, and seeing the show characters in my head while I read, I just realized what I’m doing. Reading a book at the same time as watching a series and it’s probably the exact same story.

Luckily, the series (season 12) ended on a sort of cliffhanger that I know is probably not the end of the book, so I’ll probably finish the book when the series (“Delicate” on this season 12’s American Horror Story) starts up again. YAY ME!!!

I love when I make stuff up in my head, and it comes out that it’s true!! 😂 And sure enough, I’m right. I carefully just skimmed the reviews (I rarely EVER check out reviews while reading a book, in case of spoilers) and this book IS connected to the show. HOLY MOLY that was fun!

Tracey: I just finished my first read by JT Geissinger, Pen Pal, which I read after the reviews on your blog & OMG I was sitting in bed at 1am last night after I finished with my mouth hanging open, mind reeling & flabbergasted! That was such a twist & so well-played!

Kelli: I read it later than most also (January), and am still shocked! 😳

Maryse: Tee hee!!!!!! Yep… when it affects my physically, it’s a good one! LOL!!! P.S. For those who haven’t read my 5-STAR review yet, here it is.

Emily: Just finished All the little raindrops by Mia Sheridan, 5 stars!!! So good!!!

Carol: Mia Sheridan can rip your soul out and heal it at the same time… powerful writer love all her books

Heather: I read a few chapters of Mia’s book last night before bed, strong start. ❤️

Mary Ann: I love Mia Sheridan and second chances stories is a fav storyline for me!!! Yay us!!!

Kathy: Mia Sheridan’s was a must!!

Adilia: I have been doing a reread/listen of Mercy Thompson series. I’d forgotten a lot about the series. I’m on #7 . 14 is scheduled to be released this year but not date yet. I like this series. It’s a good urban fantasy series.

Maryse: One of the most reader recommended series on my blog!! 😃 I used to devour urban fantasy, and I still haven’t read it.

Adilia: I just completed my relisten of whole series and now will have to wait few months for next release. It’s a great series. Great h with many layers. She’s not perfect and I like that.

Jessica: Just finished Watch Your Mouth by Kandi Steiner. Soooo goood!

Maryse: That one climbed the charts FAST!!

Jessica: I am a huge fan of her writing. No one does the angst better.

Kathe: The Problem with Dating by Brittainy Cherry. It was so good but I haven’t read a book I didn’t love by this author!

Kathy: Just finished Brittany Cherry’s latest The Problem with Dating. It is a small town romance and a five star read for me.

Amber: Just finished Tijan’s Pine River! So good! Hoping hard for it to turn into a series. ❤️

Carol: Me too!

Olivia: Pine River by Tijan and I really liked it.

Christy: Just finished the Inmate by Freida McFadden. Just starting The Girl Who Was Taken? I hope it’s good?

Maryse: Everyone is LOVING Frieda. I read one this year that I enjoyed but it didn’t freak me out enough, I guess. I’m going to try a few more because her books seem to always be in the top 100 list.

Jenn: Just finished The Housemaid by Freida McFadden. So good! I could not put it down.

Maryse: Plus, it’s a series!!

Alice: I am in the middle of this one and having a hard time putting it down.

Michelle: The Right Move (Windy City Series Book 2) Just finish this one. It was great. Good story line, right amount of spice, and most importantly lovable characters. Going to dive into the 3rd.

Tasha J: I finished The Right Move by Liz Tomforde and gave 4 stars. Maybe if I’d have read it quicker, 4.5? Great chemistry, loved both the hero and heroine. I read it as a stand-alone, didn’t read the first in the series, which is based on another couple, and wasn’t lost or anything.

Priti: Check out The Right Move (windy city #2) by Liz Tomforde. It is a standalone best friends brother/sports romance with fake dating, and a grumpy/sunshine dynamic.Tomforde is definitely an author to look out for! The first book (Mile high) is a good read too but this one is ‘perfection’.

Kathy: Love this series! I’m reading book 3! I had been waiting on it for months.

Dawn: The Love Plot by Samantha Young! It was good!

Kathy: Love and Other Words by Christina Lauren Other readers have said Every Summer After is similar to this one, but I think both books standalone in their respective stories. The only real similarity is the Now and Then chapters. Personally, I enjoyed both books equally.

R. Renee: My favorite book for September was Love and Other Words by Christina Lauren. LOVED IT!

Amy: I like the cover for Love and Other Words (unique covers always grab my attention) but the blurb sealed the deal.

Nerdy Gaming Mom: Love Untold by Ruth Jones Just recently finished this, absolutely loved it all characters have their own battles and come out stronger in the end. Currently now reading Us Three by Ruth Jones ❤️

Nancy: Deserving Alaska by Susan Stoker. It was really good! My review is #1! The book is still FREE!

Dotti: I just finished My Favorite Kidnapper by Melanie Moreland. I liked it. It was cute.

Heidi: Holly by Stephen King, and I LOVED it!!

Maryse: I was wanting to read that one! Should I read all of the books that lead to her evolution in this one?

Heidi: I missed The Outsider…I don’t think it mattered. I’m watching The Outsider now on HBO.

Cindi: Falling into Forever by Avery Maxwell. 5 star read.

Alice: I just finished The Seven Year Slip by Ashley Poston. Great story. Light easy reading but so good I had a hard time putting it down.

R. Renee: I’m reading The Seven Year Slip and loving it. I was at 30% and the next time I looked, it’d jumped to 67%! That never happens–where I’m so lost in a book I don’t even glance at the percentage!

Carole: Just finished Bad Wrong Things by C.P. Harris. It’s M/M which is not a trope I read very often and the author is new to me but it was recommended so I thought I’d give it a go. Oh the angst! 5* read for me, I couldn’t put it down. So good, I’m going to read her Infidelity duet next.

Marissa: Just finished an ARC of Because of Her by Jewel E Ann and absolutely loved it!

Maryse: One of my fav authors!

Marissa: mine too!

Alice: I am not so patiently waiting on this one. I love everything that she writes.

Marissa: she’s a brilliant author!

Alice: totally agree. Her books are some of my most memorable romance reads.

Marissa: 100%

Kylie: Manacled – it was an emotional rollercoaster

Maryse: I LOVE those!!! Is it the one by Bella Jewel or someone else?

Kylie: SenLinYu

Pamela: I just finished an ARC of Jamie Brenner’s book A Novel Summer. It doesn’t come out until July, but I LOVED it. It’s set in Provincetown and is womens’ fiction with rival bookshops, second chance romance and best friend drama. I read it this weekend when I was supposed to be writing. 😊

Maryse: LOL!!! I love when a book is so good it takes you away from your plans. 😉
