Reader Question – The book where he’s on his way to the castle to be married, finds out there’s a plot to kill him, and kidnaps his bride…

Lyndol needs our book help and there’s plenty of detail here (but no spoilers), I bet someone will know it!

She asks:

Badly need help with title of medieval romance.

The two biggest things I remember is the aunt and the beginning.

In the beginning the Lord and his party of knights is on the way to a castle where he is supposed to be married by order of the king I think.

He gets there and finds out there is a plot to kill him so he climbs into her bedroom and kidnaps his soon to be bride and I think it is her aunt?

The aunt/maidservant/ whatever she is, is crazy as heck it turns out. She expects the heroine to be beat by her hubby and if I remember right becomes unhappy when the heroine isn’t beat.

One more thing and I may be confusing this with another romance novel (if I am I wish to know that book name too lol). I think the heroine might have been beat by some male figure (her father, stepfather, brother, etc…?) and the aunt always took care of her afterwards. I remember a line where the aunt or whoever she is tells the heroine to lay still where she can doctor and heal her back like she will always do for her.

Any help in finding this book would greatly be appreciated. Thank you for your help and I absolutely love your site 🙂
