Reader Question… Solved! The book where she burned down the house when she was younger, and her sister was hurt in the process…

Jahnvi asked this question in the comments of another reader question, and HOLY MOLY it was solved. LOL!! I love when that happens. Before I could even get to it, but guess what? It sounds so good, I thought I’d post it, in case you want to read it too.

She asked:

Hi Maryse,

I’m looking for a book where the female lead is going through depression because when she was very young she burned down her house and her sister was hurt in the process. Her sister resents her for her mistake. Her parents are also dead.

She meets a boy who is also going through depression and thinking of committing suicide. They both meet on a rooftop. I think the male lead is the boy’s older brother who is a doctor.

I can only remember these parts, hope you can find the book.
(Sorry for my English, it is my second language )

Thank you,
Love,
Jahnvi.

Solved!!

Shaunygirl: That’s so familiar. Do they make it a thing to meet every year on the same day, on the roof? I can’t remember the name.

Jahnvi: yes, they do make it a thing to meet every year (on a birthday) but I think he eventually commits suicide and she meets his elder brother (male lead character). The relationship between the boy and his brother is rocky.

Gabi: Ist it Darling Venom?

Jahnvi: Yes, thankyou so much 🤗😊 I thought I would never find this book lol.

Maryse: YAY!! I love when questions are solved, even before I post them. 😀

Darling Venom: An Enemies-to-Lovers Romance

My first love ended in tragedy. My second began with his brother.

MichelleS: …It’s a complicated story of love and loss and trying to find your way in the aftermath. There’s a sister relationship that had me interested. A “his brother” relationship. Then there’s “his dad”…. it’s just a really great read. Don’t judge this book by its cover.

Mony: Darling Venom by Parker S. Huntington. Definite vibes of Torin by K. Webster. Loving it.

Stacie: Darling Venom. I love great writing along with a great romance!
