Reader Question – The time travel book where she meets him, he thinks she’s a witch, and when she wakes up, it’s as if he never existed…

Alfiya is looking for this one! It almost sounds like Outlander but the twist in her question is that HE is pulled into her time and not the other way around. I dunno… it still sounded very Outlander-ish (like book one and two), but then it switches up again in her question. And yet still… Outlander keeps popping in and out of this one, for me.

This is a long one (pretty much the whole book – lots and lots of detail) so tread carefully….

She asks:

So this book was a Historical Romance with some modern twist.

The female lead was in some early 19’s/20’s in an era where TV, shopping malls & trains there so the female lead & her fiancee (don’t remember much about fiancee except he’s very selfish) planned a get away to a town with some highland/outland history.

They check themselves at a hotel then go around, after sometime they go to a church.

The fiancé was still at church when the FL comes out & starts looking around, then comes across a grave or statue something such it’s the ML’s relic she’s heard of him or something. Don’t remember but he really manifests himself in  front of her and thinks she’s a witch who brought him there, cuz her dressing style & everything around is different.

It was fun seeing him getting introduced to cones & to modern clothes.

He then pesters her to see what happened to his family and everyone around & his home and stuff so they go on an adventure after the ML’s realises that they had a traitor & were betrayed.

He somehow goes back they fell in love in the process of learning truth… The FL wakes up in the Bed & Breakfast they booked & doesn’t find him. Everyone around says she’s the only one was seen. No-one was with her, specially the gentleman she described.

She goes to the the other places they’ve been meets same result & even her fiancee finds her asking where have she been as he couldn’t find her she tries to explain him but no avail. Feeling desperate she goes to the church & finds the place where she had met him & cries her heart out, then somehow finds herself in his era.

That’s somewhere the place was still green. He was a young lad not the matured brut she met but his habits were some same & the way he irritated her was so fun & she teased him equally she helps him through the problems. His sister in law has some personal stuff going resolves them & tells him the truth how she travelled.

He didn’t believe but after sometime he indulged her she would tell tales of modern world to entertain the ppl or song & rhymes to children… She taught him the importance of hygiene as many people were sick in those times cuz of this & he makes a small clay statue of them & a portrait of her….

Saying if by any chance he could find her again this potrait & statue could help!!

She goes back to her era, then visits his home which was a tourist stop.

Without needing any help she listens to his an achievement & goes to a secret room, finds his statue and hers is missing, comes out & joins the crowd. After coming out, she went to the lounge where her portrait was hanging, then she goes back through a train meets him as a stranger… same name, face, everything but he doesn’t remember, with her statue, with him saying it was passed down from his ancestors. And she looked the same as it is & then they reintroduced themselves!!
