• Black Cake: A Novel by Charmaine Wilkerson <— TASHA J LOVED THIS SERIES!

Tasha J: I’m soo excited to see Hulu released 3 episodes of the series Black Cake. I read this book a while ago and loved it so much. I didn’t even know (or forgot) they were bringing it to screen.

I really loved it. It’s been some time since I read something more heartfelt and emotional and it was really well written and I was more than invested in the story and journey of the characters.

Aimee: I did have a 4* tearjerker by: Tess Wakefield called Purple Hearts and I watched the movie on Netflix! Definitely need a box of tissues!

Sofia: I have just finished Purple Hearts’ movie without even knowing it was based on a book. So, know I am looking for a similar one, about a military that has to deploy while being in love or something with that mood, would you help me please?

Aimee: I just finished After Their Vows by Michelle Reid…. It was good 4* but the way it was written was a little hard to read for me, not terrible though.

Now if there were 2 characters who you love to hate, it was these two! 🤣  stubborn putting it mildly.🤣

Aimee: I also finished a Lisa Kleypas book called Sugar Daddy! Loved it! 41/2* only because being that it was a little dated. But love a slow burn and this had somewhat of love triangle. ❤️  this was my 2nd book by her and will be wanting more. Would love some recommendations for Lisa Kleypas!!

Maryse: YESSSS!!! I read and reviewed this one years ago when it came so highly recommended and enjoyed it too!

Jan: I love Lisa Kleypas’ Sugar Daddy series. I’ve never read your review before, but I agree with your thoughts. More Gage, please, and a bit more romance needed. It is a book I enjoyed more on a re-read than I did the first time around, which is something I often find. I think sometimes it takes me a little while to ‘get’ the characters on a first read.
